Senate ACT for ALS Reauthorization Bill Introduced

The Senate version of the ACT for ALS Reauthorization Act has been introduced by Senators Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Chris Coons (D-DE), marking another important bipartisan step toward sustaining programs that are helping accelerate ALS research and expand access to investigational therapies for people living with ALS.

Since its enactment in 2021, ACT for ALS has supported natural history research, biomarker work, shared data resources, and expanded access programs that help reach patients who often cannot participate in traditional clinical trials.

The timing is important. This week, ALS United member organizations from across the country will be in Washington, D.C. for Hill meetings during ALS Awareness Month. Reauthorizing ACT for ALS will be one of the key priorities advocates raise with members of Congress and their staff.

ALS United is grateful to Senators Murkowski and Coons for their bipartisan leadership and will continue urging Congress to move quickly to protect the progress made under ACT for ALS.

You can help build momentum by asking your members of Congress to cosponsor the ACT for ALS Reauthorization Act. Take action here.
